What’s on over the Summer holidays at the Grade I listed Shaw House and West Berkshire Museum? Well, you have family activity days, open air cinema and outdoor theatre.

Family Activity Days

Both Shaw House and West Berkshire Museum will be holding family activity days throughout the summer.

Activity days at Shaw House will be held every Wednesday starting from the 26 July. The theme throughout the Summer is Wonderful Wildlife Craft Days and a new Wildlife Spotters trail will be available.

  • 26 July – Wise owls
  • 2nd August – Happy hedgehogs
  • 9th August – Pop-up puppets
  • 16th August – Pebble creatures
  • 23rd August – Beautiful birds
  • 30th August – Dragonfly fridge magnets

Drop in between 10am – 3.30pm. Each activity is £2 per child and suitable for 4-11 year olds but younger and older children are welcome.

At the museum family days will be held every Friday and it’s all about Friday fun over the Summer.

  • 11th August – Magnificent mummies
  • 18th August – Face it!
  • 25th August – Write Stuff!
  • 1st September – Mini Masterpieces

Drop in between 10am – 3.00pm. Each activity is £2 per child and suitable for 4-11 year olds but younger and older children are welcome.

Outdoor Cinema

Open Air Cinema

Cult Screens will be returning to Shaw House in August & September with 3 cult films. Enjoy the films from a choice of deckchairs or beanbags with a range of food and drink options including cocktails, local ales, wine, fresh popcorn and their famous specialty hot dogs. Gates open at 7pm and the film starts at sunset.

  • 01st September – Notting Hill
Outdoor Theatre

Take a picnic and watch your favourite characters in the “The Wind in the Willows” presented by award-nominated Immersion Theatre. A spectacular musical adaptation of a classic.

  • Monday 14th August

Tickets Adults £12 (£10.80 with WBC), 16 and under £8 (£7.20 with WBC). Gates open at 5pm with the performance from 6pm.
